McCormick North America will unveil the all-new X6 tractor family during the 2015 National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky. The X6 Series ranges from 111 to 133 maximum engine horsepower, and will replace the successful X60 Series mid-range tractors. McCormick announced the X6 line to its dealer network in December, 2014, but this will be the first time the tractors will be shown to the general public in North America.
The new X6 Series lineup will consist of two models: the X6.420 rated for 101 PTO horsepower, and the X6.430 rated for 111 PTO horsepower. Both models use a BETAPOWER 4.5 liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine that generates huge power and torque while keeping fuel consumption and emissions low. Advanced SCR technology helps these engine meet the EPA’s strict Tier 4i emissions regulations.
Transferring all of that power to the ground is a robust 36×12 transmission with hydraulic power shuttle and 3 power shift speeds that can shift under load to adapt to changing conditions. Control levers are conveniently placed for simple, smooth operation.
Both models feature a 4wd front axle as standard equipment. The solid, cast steel axle with outboard planetary final drives engages electronically via simple push button. A fully locking front differential engages simultaneously with the rear differential to provide true 4-wheel pulling for traction and performance in the field. Integrated front axle brakes are also standard equipment, giving exceptional stopping power without overloading the rear axle brakes.
To meet the needs of their particular operation, customers have a choice of open center or closed center hydraulic systems. The simple, economical open center system provides up to 17 gpm of flow to the implements, while the deluxe closed center option puts out a whopping 29 gpm of flow, on demand, for the heaviest jobs. An electronically controlled Category 2 rear 3-point hitch has a lifting capacity of 11,900 lbs.
Operator comfort is paramount in any agricultural tractor. The large cab on the X6 Series will make long working days feel shorter and less tiring. The 4-post structure with completely flat foot deck and two doors offers lots of space in which to move around. Adjustable steering column, climate control and deluxe air ride seat invite the operator to climb inside and get comfortable. The cab sits up high with lots of glass area, including a window in the front roofline, to provide exceptional visibility in all directions.
The new X6 Series is fully designed with the farmer in mind. Engineered with capabilities and features demanded by the agricultural market, these new tractors have what it takes to get the job done, day in and day out.
