McCormick Farm Event!

Another Great Red Power Days Event for McCormick NA at the McCormick Farm!

RAPHINE, VA, August 12, 2015 – This event was more unique than past RED POWER DAYS because it was hosted at the original McCormick Farm in Virginia. The 634 acre birthplace of McCormick is beautifully maintained and serves as a functioning farm, museum site, teaching facility, picnic spot, and historical landmark that is open daily for visitation. Cyrus McCormick, also known as “The Father of Modern Agriculture”, invented the first mechanical reaper in 1831, pioneering the McCormick brand. The McCormick reaper made a statement in agriculture in America as it allowed grain to be harvested five times faster than by hand.  This sparked the future mechanical improvements to farming that lead us to where we are today. These ideas and actions started the path to efficient, evolved, and more successful farming – a path that McCormick North America has continued and will continue to pave.

The RED POWER DAYS event hosted by Tractor Care Inc. took place on August 12th from 4:00-8:00pm.  Customers, friends, and family came from all over for the opportunity to see, sit in, and drive the latest tractor models from McCormick.  In all, 11 tractors were on display, representing the complete line of compact and agricultural tractors ranging from 24 HP to 225 HP.

The dealership provided food and drink to all who came, and plenty of McCormick sales representatives were on hand to answer questions and demonstrate the machines. In addition to all of the new tractors on hand, some McCormick tractor enthusiasts from the area were also able to bring their collection of vintage McCormick tractors and exhibit them around the farm. It was a great way for attendees to see the evolution of the McCormick brand from the beginning to today.

Attendees and their families were also able to tour the historical farm, including Cyrus’s workshop, the gristmill, and the reproduction reaper.  It was a great experience all-around for those who came.

The McCormick Farm is located at 128 McCormick Farm Circle, Raphine, VA 24472

Tractor Care Inc. is located at 1066 Virginia Ave, Harrisonburg, VA 22802
