– New P3-drive transmission for X5 Tractor of the Year Best Utility 2024, alongside the 2023 Winner the X6.4 P6 Drive

– Focus on technology: MyMcCormick app, McCormick Farm, Fleet Management, Remote Diagnostics

– LAMMA 2024: Hall 18 – Stand 18 330

Yet more product developments across key McCormick tractor lines will make their UK debut at LAMMA 2024, including a new transmission for the mid-range X5 series – winner of the 2024 Best Utility Tractor of the Year, while there will also be a key focus on the brand’s leading precision farming and technology offering.

With three models of 95, 102 and 114hp, the latest incarnation of the McCormick X5 tractor range is now available with a new P3-Drive transmission, a combination which earned a nomination for Tractor of the Year 2024 in the Best Utility category. Developed in-house by parent business Argo Tractors, P3-Drive brings the technology, reliability and automation of the established P6-Drive transmission for larger McCormick tractors down to the utility category.

The new transmission provides 36 forward and 12 reverse speeds, rising to 48F/16R when the additional creep speeds are specified. This is achieved via a combination of three powershift steps and four robotised gears in each range, providing 12 automatically controlled ratios. Control is via the SmartPilot joystick, with an Auto PowerShift (APS) function that automatically engages the gear as speed increases in both field operations (AutoField) and road travel (AutoRoad). A brake-to-clutch feature enables right foot-only stopping and holding of the tractor at junctions and during loader work.

This tractor won Best Utility Tractor of the Year 2024, and will be showcased alongside its larger stablemate, the X6.4 P6 Drive range which also won the same accolade in 2023 – further proof of McCormick’s drive to lead in these important sales segments.

The McCormick stand will also have a focus on the brand’s technology offering, to illustrate how McCormick stands out when it comes to precision farming and machine monitoring. To this end, tractors on the stand will be equipped with technology including ISOBUS connections, Precision Steering management (PSM) guidance and McCormick Digital Solutions including McCormick Fleet Management – for monitoring, recording and remote diagnostics – and the McCormick Farm package , that records and manages agronomic data from operations performed by the tractor, collating it and making it available to the using the well known AgriRouter cloud based system.

Visitors to the stand are also encouraged to download the My McCormick app, allowing for personalized offers and information, access to machine warranty data and servicing for users, as well as being the access point to all of McCormick’s integrated technology platforms.

“We’re really looking forward to having a major presence again at LAMMA,” says Ben Agar, Commercial Director of Argo Tractors Great Britain.

“Our engineering and factory operations continue to benefit from significant investment, which is reflected in the quality and technology of the products we offer, whilst in Great Britain we continue to strengthen our distribution and support.

Maintaining a policy of working with customer focused family-run dealerships is key to our farmer support at local level and we are looking forward to showing LAMMA visitors how this combination of products, precision and people makes McCormick different.”
