McCormick launches a factory in Chicago to produce 500 machines for the 1848 harvest.

Financier J.P. Morgan merges the McCormick Harvesting Machine
Company and the Deering Harverster Company.
This gives rise to the first large worldwide group in the agricultural machinery sector, the International Harvester Company (IH), and in
addition to being its founder, Cyrus H. McCormick Junior also becomes its president.

Debut of the first 10 to 20 horsepower tractors, and inauguration of the International Harvester Company of Great Britain, which mainly operated as an importer up until 1939.

The International Harvester Company of Great Britain purchases the Wheatley Hall site in Doncaster, which will later become the McCormick headquarters.

Argo Group purchases the St. Dizier facility, which becomes the headquarters of McCormick France.

The McCormick Diamond Edition is launched, a special edition that leads to the end of production at the Doncaster facility.

Argo Tractors decommissions the Doncaster facility and transfers the production of McCormick brand tractors to the Group’s production sites outside the United Kingdom.

The French facility in St. Dizier, specialising in Powershift transmissions, is decommissioned in
order to centralise all the production activities within the modern and innovative Argo Tractors facilities.

The X7 series, based on an original
Argo Tractors design and featuring a ZF gearbox, makes its debut in Paris.
The version with a continuously variable transmission also arrived in the autumn.It was the start of a new era.

The Xtractor project is launched: a docu-reality show in which
the tractors will travel over 8000 kilometres through Australia.

The 310 HP X8 VT-Drive high-end range makes its debut at Agritechnica.

The McCormick X6.4 VT-Drive, with a continuously variable gearbox developed and produced by Argo Tractors, is crowned Best Utility 2018 by the Tractor of the Year jury.

The process of strengthening the
McCormick dealer network in Europe begins with the inauguration of the new Argo Tractors branch in Spain, and will later include new branches in France (2019) and Germany (2021) as well.

After completing their Australian adventure, the tractors of Xtractor set off on the discovery of South Africa: a 50-day journey during which they will cover an itinerary of 8000 km.

At Agritechnica McCormick debuts the X7.624 Stage V model, with its new 6-cylinder engine, and new “family feeling” bonnet and roof design derived from the flagship X8 VT-Drive model.
Together with the Stage V engine, the updated roof style, which now includes 12 LED work lights, was also adopted for the X8 VT-Drive.

2021

McCormick reaffirms its development pathway by offering a comprehensive range of 43 to 310 HP products.
The company improves its global performance with the launch of the new X8 VT-Drive, X7.6, X6.4 VT-Drive and P6 Drive models, all with Stage V engines.
