Day 5 – Plettenberg Bay-Jeffreys Bay

Autumn Is over in a flash and it’s back to Summer. The sun is shining and we feel great because today’s leg is short and tomorrow we’ll have a well deserved rest day we can spend enjoying one of South Africa’s most celebrated nature parks. We take to the highway with halfhearted confidence, we’d much rather drive a country road, but it’s a mercifully short stretch leading to a gravel track cut into thick bush. For the first time it feels like Africa and the imoression is confirmed when we sight our first zebras grazing a few meters away. The Out Of Africa feel gets all the stronger when we get to the lodge where we are going to spend the next two nights. Safari tents, big fire, open air dining under a canopy of stars, animals roaming free – welcome to Africa!
