The X7.6 tractors are powered by cutting-edge FPT N67 6.7-litre, six-cylinder turbo intercooled engines with multivalve technology and electronic common rail injection system that deliver up to 240 hp. The turbocharger ensures fast response to load changes. During transport or PTO applications, the Power Plus system delivers an additional 10 horsepower to handle tough conditions and heavy loads. The engine’s maximum torque of 983 Nm is available from 1400 rpm and remains constant until 1800 rpm with up to 41% torque backup. The average fuel consumption is the lowest in the segment: only 17.1 l/h. The HI-eSCR2 aftertreatment system meets Stage V emissions regulations. The engine is supported by a rugged cast-iron chassis which isolates the cab from vibrations and noise. In addition, an electronically controlled Viscotronic fan cools the engine more efficiently, reducing fuel consumption and noise. The X7.6 is a truly advanced engine that delivers high levels of power, reliability and durability.

The innovative P6-Drive transmission improves the performance and versatility of the X7.6, both in the field and on the road. The P6-Drive with robotised range shifting and electrohydraulic steering-column power shuttle offers six on-the-go PowerShift speeds and five ranges providing 30 forward and 15 reverse speeds. The creep speed option increases the number of speeds to 54 forward and 27 in reverse. The top speed of 50 km/h is achieved at low engine rpm, which reduces fuel consumption. In addition, the new Oil Cut-off automatic lubrication system increases the efficiency of the P6-Drive transmission during transport operations, further improving fuel economy.

Smart APS Auto Powershift automatic transmission

While driving, the Smart APS Auto PowerShift facility automatically selects the right gear in each range, based on operating conditions such as load, advance speed and engine rpm. The APS system ensures the best performance-to[1]consumption ratio, while improving comfort and safety.

Stop & Action system: more driving comfort and safety

The Stop & Action function allows the operator to control the clutch using the brake pedal. This results in a smooth and comfortable driving experience, comparable to that of a CVT transmission. This system reduces the driver’s fatigue, especially when doing tasks that require frequent stops and restarts. In addition, based on the tractor’s load, a dedicated software decides when to disengage the clutch for added safety.

Electrohydraulic reverse power shuttle

The reverse power shuttle allows the operator to automatically shift from forward to reverse without using the clutch, by simply operating a lever adjacent to the steering wheel or using the joystick. The shuttle response is electronically modulated and adjustable by the operator if required for different tasks.

EasyPilot joystick: efficiency at your fingertips

The EasyPilot controller enables quick and easy control of the P6-Drive transmission, allowing the operator to shift through all gears and ranges without depressing the clutch pedal. This makes for seamless, quick gear changes that provide constant and powerful traction both in the field and on the road. The EasyPilot joystick allows the operator to drive the tractor and operate the implements with maximum ease and comfort. Five configurable buttons on the EasyPilot enable the operator to control up to five different functions including the APS Auto PowerShift, differential lock, four-wheel drive engagement, De-clutch button, PTO, engine speed memory, remote valves and headland operations. All functions are clearly displayed on the DSM touch screen display or the digital instrument panel.

With 14 percent more glass area, the new four-post cab of the X8 provides superb, unobstructed vision in all directions. The interior is more spacious than ever before and the controls are ergonomically designed according to anthropometric principles, servo assisted and user-friendly. The low round fenders further improve visibility to the sides of the vehicle. The 12-inch tablet-like touch screen monitor allows for simple and intuitive operation. Twenty adjustable full LED work lights provide full all-round visibility, while up to two relocatable rearview cameras allow the driver to monitor blind spots from the cab, making for improved safety and easy implement attachment.

The new Clever Cab offers more space for the operator. The clever four-post design has increased the glazed area by 14 per cent to allow full view of the implements and of the entire work area. Interior space has also been increased, particularly in the area around the chest and head of the driver, with 8 cm extra height. The seat travel has been extended by 12 cm towards the rear side. Storage areas are all built in to keep the working space uncluttered.

Wide, well-spaced steps, large doors and a fold-away buddy seat make access to the cab easy and safe. In addition, the daytime running lights integrated into the new headlamps and delayed light switch off ensure safe entry and exit at night.

To make the farmer’s work less tiring, McCormick has developed Cab Suspension, a new electrohydraulic semi-active cab suspension system which isolates the tractor body from wheel vibrations induced by uneven ground conditions. Cab Suspension increases tractor stability on all terrains, enhancing ride comfort.

The X7.6 features a closed-centre load sensing (CCLS) hydraulic system with variable displacement pump. This technology regulates the oil flow supplied to the remotes so that the pump always delivers exactly the quantity of oil that the system requires, thereby eliminating unnecessary power waste that may affect the tractor’s performance. The system supplies 160 l/min to the hitch and remote valves and 52 l/min to the steering system and low-pressure hydraulic functions, allowing for simultaneous operation of all hydraulic devices. The X7.6 can be fitted with up to eight electrohydraulic remote valves with push-pull couplers: six at the rear, including two for the front hitch, equipped with a 3-way flow divider; and two mid-mounted for the use of a front loader. The system, that features high-quality components and customisable controls, is electronically controlled and can be fully configured from the DSM touch screen display. With its wide choice of hydraulic options, the X7.6 will fully meet the needs of every farmer and contractor.
