McCormick at CEREALS 2023

McCormick maintains full support for Cereals with major presence planned as arable sales grow

  • Key event for ARGO Tractors’ primary high-hp, high-tech brand
  • Stand to focus on larger models and technology to match
  • Utility Tractor of the Year X6.4 and X7 models to take centre stage

McCormick is marking its continued commitment to the UK farming industry and the growing number of farmers choosing the brand with a significant presence once more at Cereals, the UK’s key national arable event, which this year takes place at Thoresby Estate, Notts, on June 13-14.

The focus of the McCormick stand is set to centre on key mid-range models from around the UK’s 170hp average power figure, a sector where McCormick is enjoying increasing sales success. To this end, on display will be key models from the 135-155 max hp X6.4 P6-Drive series with six-speed powershift, which includes the X6.414, judged Tractor of the Year 2023 in the ‘Best Utility’ category for features including its front axle suspension, four-wheel braking and P6-Drive transmission with six powershift gears and four robotised ranges.

Also present will be X7 short wheelbase tractors with six-step powershift P6-Drive and continuously-variable VT-Drive. The range includes the four-cylinder 165hp X7.417 and 175hp X7.418, plus the six-cylinder X7.617 and X7.618 with the same maximum power outputs. Potential buyers thereby have a choice of configurations to suit their needs, with a wheelbase of 2,651mm (four-cyl models) and 2,760mm (six-cyl tractors), but all models have a maximum 11,500kg gross vehicle weight and maximum 710/60 R38 rear tyre size.

Topping the display will be representatives of the latest X7.6 six-cylinder long wheelbase range, spanning 190/210/225hp (max) with P6-Drive six-step powershift or 210/225/240hp (max) with VT-Drive. Features include a brake-boosting system to reduce braking effort required while improving driving accuracy and safety. Visitors to the McCormick stand will also find displays of the brand’s latest precision farming technology in conjunction with TopCon, and farmer-focused solutions for finance and minimising cost of ownership.

“We’re really looking forward to being a major presence once more at Cereals,” says Adrian Winnett, Managing Director of ARGO Tractors UK and Ireland.

“With well-planned pipeline stock-ordering well in advance of the 2023 season, we have immediate availability on most models, and as a growing number of farmers and contractors choose our family-run dealerships as an alternative to the multi-branch majors, we’re confident Cereals can help grow our sales among those looking for a more personal and local service.”
