Building tractors that meet the real needs of farmers is a prerequisite for any company that aspires to become a market leader in agricultural machinery. When introduced, the McCormick TTX230 tractor marked a technological evolution in the segment of tractors over 200 hp. The TTX230 model is equipped with an advanced 6.7 liter 6-cylinder BETAPOWER diesel engine featuring turbocharging and intercooling, 4 valves per cylinder, and an electronic common rail fuel injection system. This powerful engines offer high levels of torque for excellent performance, low fuel consumption, and meets the EPA's strict emissions regulations. Another novel feature of this tractor is the XtraSpeed ​​transmission offering 8 power shift speeds in 4 ranges. The XtraSpeed ​​transmission provides 32 speeds using four synchro-mesh ranges with push button control of the 8 power shifts. The PTO, with electro-hydraulic engagement and reversible shaft, provides both 540 and 1000 RPM speeds to power a wide variety of attachments. The powerful rear 3-point lift operates electronically for precise implement control and provides a maximum lift capacity of 24,141 lbs (10,950 kg). The 4wd front axle engages electronically to improve traction in the field and provides a maximum steering angle of 55 ° for improved maneuverability. The closed center hydraulic system has a variable displacement pump that provides up to 43 gpm (162 lpm) of hydraulic flow to the implement system and 4 standard rear remote valves. The Deluxe cab, designed to provide the operator with complete safety and maximum comfort, provides a panoramic 360 degree view without obstruction thanks to large doors hinged onto the rear post of the 4-post structure. Heavy duty HVAC, along with the deluxe air seat and ergonomically placed controls, create an atmosphere of comfort and productivity.

6 Cylinder BETAPOWER Engine - Power and Reliability

The rugged and reliable BETAPOWER 6-cylinder diesel engine in the TTX230 model sits in a heavy cast steel front frame to create a strong, rigid chassis. Displacing 6.7 liters, the clean-burning powerplant incorporates 4 valves per cylinder with a turbocharger and intercooler. High pressure common rail direct fuel injection ensures excellent fuel /air mixture for a clean, more complete burn to generate high power and torque.

Electronic engine management precisely controls engine operation for quick response, improved performance and low fuel consumption. Combined with the engine electronics, the Power Management system allows for an automatic increase in both the power and torque available at the PTO. A single piece raising hood provides complete access to the engine for service and maintenance. A two-stage air cleaner is easy to reach for inspection or replacement, and engine oil can be checked without opening the hood.

The ‘XTRASPEED’ electronic transmission

The durable ‘XTRASPEED’ transmission provides 32 speeds over 4 ranges with 8 power shift gears in each range. A mechanical hand lever in the right side console shifts between the 4 ranges using the clutch pedal. A simple thumb “toggle” switch lets the operator freely shift through the 8 gears without using the foot clutch. The power shift gears can shift-under-load at full power to quickly react to changing field conditions. The transmission is also equipped with a hydraulic power shuttle providing 32 forward and 24 reverse speeds. A convenient left hand lever near the steering wheel changes the travel direction without having to use the foot clutch pedal, and it also includes a “park lock” position to keep the tractor stationary when parked. A de-clutch button on the front side of the main transmission lever disengages the main drive clutch when pressed, making range shifts more convenient.

 
 

Deluxe Cab, the luxury of total comfort

The Deluxe cab features a four-post design with large, rearhinged doors which provide excellent visibility in all directions and allow the operator to enter and exit with ease. The quality and design of the ergonomically-arranged controls and the excellent sound-proofing maximize the operator’s comfort. A window in the front roof line improves visibility and makes front loader operations easier. Equipped with an adjustable air-ride seat, folding instructor’s seat, adjustable steering wheel and an efficient HVAC system, the cab of the TTX230 tractor offers the ideal environment for long hours in the field. The powerful halogen lights provide awesome visibility during night work.

 
 

CLOSED-CENTER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

The closed center PFC hydraulic system with variable displacement pump provides a flow rate of up to 43 gpm (162 lpm) and ensures optimum operation of the 4 rear remote spool valves. Valves 1, 2 and 3 are controlled using mechanical hand levers in the right side console. The 4th remote valve operates using an electronic rocker switch for convenience. The remote valves stack side-by-side at the rear of the tractor for easy reach, and standard ISO 1/2” quick couplers with spring-loaded covers make implement connection easy. A zero pressure return port is standard equipment to accommodate select implements.
